You would think that companies, especially lingerie companies, would know by now that people are pretty sensitive about weight and body image.
Apparently, popular panty retailer Victoria's Secret was blissfully unaware of this fact when their launched their "Perfect Body" campaign.
Meant to advertise their line of bras and underwear titled Body by Victoria, the main image featured all of their skinny skeleton models posing flirtatiously with the words "The Perfect Body" plastered in front of them. They haven't apologized for their wildly insensitive media campaign and slogan, but instead they discretely changed the slogan from this:

in response to outrage from customers and a petition launched on Change.org. This is what their slogan should have been originally, because now instead of looking body-positive, they just look like insensitive pricks (especially since it seems stupid to write "every body" when all of those bodies look exactly the same).
Again, you would think that this would have been a no brain-er for them, and that they would have not even considered going ahead with something like this, considering similar backlash stories from La Perla and other lingerie chains. But, not everyone was paying attention, I guess.
This is great news for Aerie though, who I am willing to bet had gained more of a following with their #AerieReal campaign in light of their competitor's absent mindedness.
